Multiples...of one?

If you have internet access that includes e-mail (who doesn't?), you probably have the capability of having more than one "internet identity" or "web identity" or "e-mail identity." I think the original idea here was for family members to be able to use one internet account, but each with a unique set of preferences.

Increasingly, however, individuals are creating multiple identities for themselves. How is this not a little creepy, something uncomfortably close to multiple personality disorder. [See Jim Friesen's interesting book, MPD]
